Common questions

What it is, and what it refuses to be.

Grouped, so you can find the one you came for. Where the answer is an absence — no win rate, no trade prints, no entries — it says so plainly here rather than leaving you to discover it later.

01 — What it is

What it is, and what it refuses to be.

The first answer is the one that decides whether the rest of this page is for you.

What is VolTix not?

It is not a signal service, and it does not become one later. There are no entries, no stops, no targets and no predictions anywhere in it — not in the terminal, not in the written read, not in the Discord bot. It does not publish a win rate or a hit rate, and the reasoning behind that refusal is further down this page rather than buried in a footer.

What it does instead is name the mechanism: which strikes carry a dealer hedging obligation, which way that obligation points, and what it implies if price arrives there. Implication, never instruction. That is a positioning choice first — a level you understand is worth more than a call you followed — and a legal one second: VolTix is built and run in Australia, where telling you what to trade is regulated financial advice, and it is not licensed to give any. Educational purposes only.

Is this a signal service?

No, and it is built specifically not to be. VolTix explains what dealer positioning IS, who has to hedge it and why, and what that implies — stated as an implication, never as an instruction. If you came off ICT because you followed calls you did not understand, new calls you do not understand would be the same trap with different vocabulary. Educational purposes only.

What is GEX?

Gamma Exposure — a measure of how much dealers need to hedge in response to price movement. High positive GEX = dealers are long gamma, which tends to stabilise price (mean-reverting tape). High negative GEX = dealers are short gamma, which tends to amplify moves (trend / momentum tape). VolTix surfaces the level where GEX flips sign (Gamma Flip) plus the key Call Wall / Put Wall strikes where dealer hedging concentrates.

Do you publish a win rate or hit rate?

No — and you should distrust anyone who does. We would rather explain why than invent one. A level only gets approached about once every eight sessions, so an honest statistic needs roughly a year of collected data before the sample means anything. We checked ours; it is not there yet. We are collecting and will publish when the number is real. Anyone showing you a hit rate on less than that is showing you noise with a percent sign on it.

02 — The data

Where the numbers come from.

Including the feed that is not here, which is the one most people are actually asking about.

How fresh is the data, honestly?

The options chain refreshes every 5 minutes for the first 30 minutes after the open and the last 30 minutes before the close, every 15 minutes through the rest of the session, and hourly outside it. Exposure is recalculated continuously against the live price between refreshes, holding implied volatility constant. Nothing here is real-time, and it does not need to be: open interest updates once a day and gamma walls do not move in two seconds. This is a structural signal, not a speed one. Options data from Polygon.io; underlying price and volatility history from Yahoo.

What tickers are supported?

Thirteen: the SPX, NDX and RUT indices alongside SPY, QQQ, IWM, AAPL, NVDA, TSLA, META, MSFT, AMD and GLD. The index options matter — thinkScript cannot access index open interest, so the free Think-or-Swim GEX studies are structurally incapable of computing SPX gamma. More tickers post-launch based on demand.

What data is behind it, and what is deliberately missing?

Options chains from Polygon.io on an Options Starter plan; underlying price and volatility history from Yahoo. Thirteen instruments, index options included — SPX, NDX and RUT alongside the ETFs and the single names. Every Greek is computed here from the chain rather than taken from the vendor: Polygon's own vega and gamma are internally inconsistent by about six per cent, and ours are verified against numerical derivatives.

What is not in it: individual trade prints. There is no time-and-sales tape, no sweep feed and no unusual-options-activity scanner, because the trades endpoint is not included on this plan — it returns 403. A Flow tab was designed and then killed for exactly that reason rather than faked from something adjacent. Everything on this product is built from the chain: open interest, volume, quotes, and the exposures computed from them. If a flow tape is what you came for, this is honestly not it.

03 — Pricing and billing

What it costs, and how to stop paying it.

$39/month or $390/year. Charged when you subscribe. There is no trial and there are no refunds — cancel any time and it runs to the end of the period you paid for.

What is the founding rate, and what happens when it runs out?

The first subscribers pay a lower rate, on the monthly plan and the annual plan alike, and keep it for as long as they stay subscribed — it is a rate, not a discount that expires. It applies automatically at checkout; there is no code to enter. The number of seats is capped, and once they are taken they are gone for good and the card simply shows the list price. Existing subscriptions are never changed and nothing is applied retroactively.

Can I cancel, and do you refund?

Cancel any time from your account page; access continues to the end of the period you have paid for and nothing renews after that. There is no trial — your card is charged when you subscribe — and there are no refunds. The demo, the free Discord bot and this page are how you decide before you pay. Stated plainly rather than buried.

04 — Indicators and integrations

Getting the levels onto your own chart.

The TradingView indicator is included free on every plan, and the two questions it always produces are answered here.

How do I set up the TradingView indicator?

Three steps. Download voltix-levels.pine from your account, open TradingView's Pine Editor and paste the file in, then click Copy Pine dataon the dashboard and paste that string into the indicator's Data string input.

The paste is the part everyone asks about, and the answer is a platform limit rather than a shortcut we took. Pine Script has no network primitive at all — it cannot make an authenticated request, and it cannot make an unauthenticated one either. There is no outward call available to it, at any price, so the levels have to travel as a compact string you carry across. The indicator greys itself out once a pasted string is more than a trading day old, so a stale paste cannot pass itself off as today's levels.

The full walkthrough, and what each of the seven lines draws.

Why can I only see my licence key once?

Because the backend stores a SHA-256 hash of it and nothing else. There is no copy of the key on the server to show you, so there is no “show key” button that could ever work — the one moment it is visible is the response that created it. The resting state in your account is a mask plus a rotate button. Rotation is destructive by design: the old key stops working the moment the new one exists, and every integration you have installed stays broken until the new key is pasted in. Rotate a key you think has leaked, not one you want another look at.

05 — The free tier

What you can use without paying.

Two things, and neither is a cut-down trailer for the paid one.

What is in the demo?

The real terminal — the same dashboard code the paid product renders, with every mode open, the full exposure rail, the strike × expiry grid, the volatility surface and the written read — frozen on a recorded trading day. Not a video and not a cut-down preview. No account and no card.

Nothing inside it is gated, because there is no backend request to gate: every read resolves a static file, so it keeps working even when the live service does not. Open the demo.

What does the free Discord bot do?

It runs the same exposure maths and posts the result as an image, in the charts channel, with no VolTix account needed — !gex spy, !levels spx, !skew spx. Twenty-eight commands, and every one works as a slash command too.

Free use is capped at 6 chart images a day on 30-minute delayed data, and the count resets at 00:00 UTC. A subscription removes both the cap and the delay. What the bot can do.

06 — Getting in touch

One person answers these.

There is no support desk to route around, because there is no desk.

I have feedback — can I reach you?

Yes. Email oarmstrong494@gmail.com. Every account with dashboard access also has a feedback button in the bottom-right corner of the terminal, which posts to the same place.

Still not sure?

$39/mo or $390/yr. Charged when you subscribe. Cancel any time from your account page. Not ready — the Discord bot is free and takes no card.
